Yield: 3 pounds of chili

Ingredients:
1.5 pounds ground beef
1 lb Jimmy Dean Italian sausage
1 large onion, diced
2 to 3 c. beef stock
3 cloves garlic
2 small apple, diced
salt and pepper to taste
1 tp. pumpkin spice
1 T. garam masala
2 T. smokey chipotle
1 T. summer savory
1 T. brown sugar
1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
1 large can (20 oz.?) crushed tomatoes
1 can beans, rinsed and drained
Instructions:
- Brown the meat and add to slow cooker, leaving fat and liquid in the pan
- Cook the onions in the same pan until soft. Add to the slow cooker.
- Add enough beef broth to barely cover the meat.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Cook in slow cooker on high for 1-2 hours, or on low for 3-4 hours.
