Yield: 6-8 servings

1 loaf bread, cut into cubes
¼ lb. bacon, cut into small pieces
1 c. onion, finely chopped
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1T. poultry seasoning
½ – 1 c. turkey or chicken broth
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- In a large bowl, mix the bread, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning until evenly distributed.
- Cook the bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and add to bread. Cook the onion in the bacon drippings until translucent. Add to the bread and seasonings and mix gently.
- Add broth to taste, and mix again.
- Put into a buttered casserole dish, cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 10 minutes.
Notes: This can be prepped up to two days in advance, and then baked on Thanksgiving.
If using to stuff a turkey, omit the broth.
