{"id":62,"date":"2022-05-19T01:59:09","date_gmt":"2022-05-19T01:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deathstyle.org\/?p=62"},"modified":"2022-05-19T01:59:09","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T01:59:09","slug":"tuna-melt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deathstyle.org\/?p=62","title":{"rendered":"Tuna Melt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yield: 1 serving<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Active Time:&nbsp; 10 minutes&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Total Time: 20 minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 T. mayonnaise<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1 tsp. lemon juice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2 tsp. dill pickle relish<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u00bd tsp. minced garlic<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u00bd tsp. parsley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u00bc tsp. salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u00bc tsp. ground black pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1 can tuna, drained<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2 slices of bread<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2 slices of cheddar cheese<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2 T. butter<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Mix mayonnaise and lemon juice.\u00a0 Add relish, parsley, salt and pepper.\u00a0 Mix well.\u00a0 Add tuna and mix again, breaking up large chunks.<\/li><li>Preheat broiler.<\/li><li>Over medium heat, melt 2T butter in a cast-iron or other oven-safe pan.<\/li><li>Place both pieces of bread in the melted butter.\u00a0 Grill until bread is lightly browned.  Remove one piece to a plate and keep warm.<\/li><li>Spread tuna on top.\u00a0 Add cheese, breaking off pieces if needed to keep the cheese over the tuna.\u00a0 <\/li><li>Broil for five minutes, or until tuna is warm and cheese is melted.  Top with remaining piece of bread and serve.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Notes:&nbsp; Been experimenting for a while, here\u2019s where I am so far.&nbsp; I used Jewish rye, which is a large piece of bread.&nbsp; Regular white bread will probably only hold half a can of tuna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baking seems to work will for the tuna and cheese, but the bread is soggy.\u00a0 I should try grilling it next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is my idea for next attempt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Experimental plans.
