{"id":52,"date":"2022-05-03T21:31:27","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T21:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deathstyle.org\/?p=52"},"modified":"2022-05-03T21:31:27","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T21:31:27","slug":"simple-bread-stuffing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deathstyle.org\/?p=52","title":{"rendered":"Simple Bread Stuffing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yield: 6-8 servings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Active Time:&nbsp;&nbsp; 20 minutes&nbsp;&nbsp; Total Time: 1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1 loaf bread, cut into cubes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u00bc lb. bacon, cut into small pieces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1 c. onion, finely chopped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2 tsp. salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1 tsp. pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1T. poultry seasoning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00bd &#8211; 1 c. turkey or chicken broth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Preheat oven to 325F.<\/li><li>In a large bowl, mix the bread, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning until evenly distributed.<\/li><li>Cook the bacon until crisp.\u00a0 Remove from pan and add to bread.\u00a0 Cook the onion in the bacon drippings until translucent.\u00a0 Add to the bread and seasonings and mix gently.<\/li><li>Add broth to taste, and mix again.<\/li><li>Put into a buttered casserole dish, cover and bake for 30 minutes.\u00a0 Uncover and bake for 10 minutes.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Notes:&nbsp; This can be prepped up to two days in advance, and then baked on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If using to stuff a turkey, omit the broth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I really should make this more than once a year.
