{"id":121,"date":"2024-08-13T02:26:53","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T02:26:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deathstyle.org\/?p=121"},"modified":"2024-08-13T02:26:53","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T02:26:53","slug":"chicken-kabobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deathstyle.org\/?p=121","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Kabobs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yield: 4-6 kabob sticks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Active Time: 45 minutes&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Total Time: 1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Meat and Veggies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u00bd lb chicken breasts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 orange and \/ or red bell peppers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 zucchini<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 large red onion<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marinade<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/3 c. olive oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 T. lemon juice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 T. reduced sodium soy sauce<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 T. balsamic vinegar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 T. brown sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 T. Dijon mustard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u00bd tsp. onion power<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u00bd tsp. garlic powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u00bd tsp. salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp. dried basil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp. dried oregano<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp. dried thyme<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tsp. paprika<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp. pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whisk all the marinade ingredients in a medium bowl, large enough to hold all the veggies.\u00a0 Pour a third of the sauce into smaller bowl large enough to hold the chicken.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cut the chicken into 2\u201d cubes.\u00a0 Slice the zucchini into 1\u201d thick slices.\u00a0 Cut the bell peppers into 2\u201d squares.\u00a0 Cut the ends off the onion, and cut the onion in half between the ends.\u00a0 Cut each half into quarters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put the chicken in the smaller bowl, toss to coat, cover and refrigerate for 4-8 hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put the zucchini and bell peppers in the larger bowl, toss to coat, cover and refrigerate for 4-8 hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set aside the onion, without separating the layers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternate veggies and chicken on skewers for grilling or baking.\u00a0 Use 2-3 layers of onion together to prevent the onion from burning.\u00a0 Throw away the chicken marinade and use the veggie marinade for basting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook according to weather and preference:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Oven:&nbsp; Put skewers in a 9&#215;13 pan so they hang over the edge and the food doesn\u2019t touch the bottom.&nbsp; Bake at 400\u00b0F for 16-20 minutes.&nbsp; Turn and baste halfway through cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grill:&nbsp; Preheat barbecue to 425\u00b0F.&nbsp; Grill for 8-12 minutes.
